Sekwanele is part of Sukuma sakhe project that has been initiated by (KZN) Premier at KwaMashu.

On the 6 0f October 2012 Sekwanele organiser launch event at Inanda Newtown A Hall whereby three of Subcommittes were launch which is Inanda, Ntuzuma and Lidelani.

On the 8th of August 2012, Sekwanele was invited at Durban Girls’ Secondary School in Durban for a Women’s Day Programme where the organisation addressed the learners about dangers of involving themselves in drugs, teenage pregnancy and criminal activities.

On the 3rd August 2012, Sekwanele was invited at the Stakeholders Forum at Bester Community Hall Kwa-mashu. Stakeholders present were the organisers Ethekwini Municipality (INK), Department of Tourism, Councillors, Students From UKZN, Business People and the Community Structures.

On the 24th to 31st July 2012, Sekwanele was part of Johannesburg Social Re-integration Active School Life Awareness Campaigns organised by the Department of Correctional Services. Schools that attended are Westbury Secondary School, Chris Botha Secondary School, Nirvana Secondary, Forest Secondary School and Kennilworth Secondary School.

On the 14th of May 2012, Sekwanele started the programme where awareness was done inside the classrooms at Bhukulani Secondary School from grade 8-12, the programme is still running at the school.

On the 9th May 2012, Sekwanele was part of the organising committee for the , Parolees Outreach Programme organised by the Department of Correctional services at Dlamini Hall in Soweto. Stakeholders that were involved are the SAPS (Moroka Police Station), Community Forum, Youth Desk, Salvation Army of South Africa, Qinisela, Sotsolosto Support Group and other NGOs.
